Nene Valley Dragon Boat Race 2011
On Sunday the 4th of September, stalwart Friends of Serve braved rain and wind to
take to their longboat, “R U Being Served”, and participate in the annual Nene Valley
Dragon Boat Race event near Oundle.
Friend of Serve Jess Slater said “It was a brilliant
day. We raised over £1000 for Serve through sponsorship of our boat, a bottle tombola
and “hook a boat” stall. We will be planning more fun fundraising events in the
future”. Serve would like to say a huge THANK YOU to all the rowers and people who
helped to organise and attend the event. Future planned Friends of Serve events
are:
• Grand Draw Christmas Raffle 2011 – First prize a large Festive Christmas Hamper
• Sing for Serve – 6th December 2011 at Rushden Park Road Baptist Church
