Senior Active

Serve offers a range of activities which are always being added to, so please keep checking the site for updates.
Why Serve?
We take the business of Day Care very seriously. The fact that we refer to our centres as “Well-being Centres” and “Luncheon Clubs” underlines this and sets us apart from ordinary Day Centres. We aim to make every moment that you are with us both interesting and stimulating. Each of our centres is managed and staffed by experienced and trained care workers. There are also volunteers at hand to assist.
What do we do?
There are many activities such as games and gentle exercises. We can even pamper you with massage, nail care, reflexology and aromatherapy. Throughout the day we offer quizzes, relaxation to music, reminiscence activities and games such as cards, bingo etc. You can even try out a Wii Fit board!
What time of day?
Monday to Friday, 10.00am to 2.00pm
Where are the centres?
We have one centre in Higham Ferrers and one in Rushden:-
Ron Manning Wellbeing Centre, 77 Upper Kings Avenue, Higham Ferrers (Tel. 01933 419199)
Church Street Wellbeing Centre, 19 Church Street, Rushden (Tel. 01933 352890)
Both operate each week day and offer the opportunity of a freshly prepared cooked lunch every day. These hot meals are cooked in our own fully equipped kitchens by our experienced cooks (please note, meals need to be pre-booked).
However, if you are feeling a little low one day and would like someone to talk to, or just a bit of company, why not drop in for a coffee and chat with other clients at the Ron Manning Centre. There is no need to book for this drop in service.
The Rushden Centre also provides care for special groups such as people with dementia and sensory impairments. Areas we cover are Rushden, Higham Ferrers, Irchester, Irthlingborough, Raunds and surrounding areas.
What about transport?
We can arrange transport if you are unable to make your own way to any of our centres. We provide a wheelchair adapted vehicle or a volunteer driver can collect you and return you home. Please ask about membership and details of charges for these services.

How much will it cost?
There is a modest charge to cover day care which includes a meal. Beverages and cold drinks are included in the price of the luncheon club.

Interested in joining or want to know more?
Please contact one of our Supervisors at our Church Street office on 01933 315555 or drop in to 19 Church Street, Rushden.
